Delivering Infrastructure Projects

The way in which infrastructure projects are conceived, designed and delivered is changing more quickly than at any other time in the last two centuries. New disruptive technologies and construction techniques are allowing us to deliver high performance assets quicker, cheaper and more safely. Model centric design lies at the heart of this new way of working and will ultimately be a requirement on all infrastructure projects.

To participate you need to demonstrate that you have embraced the revolution and transformed your business into one that is fit to work alongside organisations delivering cutting edge digital construction. Services such as our BSI affiliated path to BIM Level 2 certification programme lead you through the complexity of adopting new technology.

  • Our Services
  • Adopt

Over the last three decades we have built a reputation based on our ability to support our customers as they adopt multiple generations of design technology. With each generation, the complexity of the software has increased significantly as has the need to put measures in place to manage the rich project information that is now available to us. A typical adoption programme for a customer moving to model based design includes software training, documentation development, digital component creation and implementing data management software. Often at this stage we introduce new ways to evaluate design decisions. This is the time to take advantage of next generation analysis and visualisation tools that provide instant feedback as you design.

  • Collaborate

The industry wide success of model centric workflows is reliant on project stakeholders’ ability to easily share and consume project information externally. The next phase of an adoption programme is often concerned with implementing technology such as BIM 360 within an organisation or project team. Equally important is the ability to use existing information such as GIS and survey data to develop a representation of existing conditions. Fortunately, the experience we have developed connecting companies on hundreds of successful projects proves to be invaluable as we support our customers through these early projects.

  • Integrate

This new generation of cloud connected technology has more flexibility built in for connecting and integrating with other systems than ever. If we are not able to use one of our existing integrations to connect and automate your existing systems then our team of specialists can extend the standard functionality to deliver seamless workflows and deliver significant productivity gains.

  • Out-source

It isn’t always achievable to develop all the new skills to support the additional services that you want to offer your customers in the first phase of the technology implementation. For example, laser scanning and drone photogrammetry are drastically reducing the time needed to accurately model the existing site or building conditions. These reality capture techniques can remove significant cost from a project when compared to traditional surveying or information gathering processes. Our Engineering Projects team offer a set of services that have been developed to fill the gaps in your capability in these specialist but highly relevant technologies. These services include developing detailed digital component catalogues, complex modelling activities and producing highly realistic visual aids.

“It’s revolutionised the way we work!”

“We felt there was a good fit with Cadline. They demonstrated a clear understanding of the kind of data we were handling and its relationship to the projects we were involved in, and importantly they made us feel that we were able to deal with them as equal partners, that we would get the right level of attention. A key part of the brief was to provide web GIS controlled by a new spatial database. It’s revolutionised the way we work!”

– Andrew Barker, Director, Dalcour Maclaren

“Cadline’s commitment to the surveying industry has been evident by supporting Skanska’s vision of offering a topographic standard for commonly captured features”

“Skanska has valued the support that Cadline has provided in helping our surveying team to reap the benefits that AutoCAD Civil 3D can bring for processing topographic surveys. It has enabled us to develop a fully integrated strategy for capturing information in the field and processing the models and documentation in the software.

Cadline’s commitment to the surveying industry has been evident by supporting Skanska’s vision of offering a topographic standard for commonly captured features.

We have enjoyed collaborating with Cadline and look forward to working on more projects in the future.”

– Sean Brown, Senior Engineering Surveyor, Skanska

“Their knowledge of the Infrastructure industry and its challenges is second to none”

“Working with Cadline has been a very positive experience. The team spent time to understand exactly what our software and training requirement was and what would maximise the benefit for our business. The software was supplied and implemented without a hitch and the team prepared a customised course to address our specific needs. Their knowledge of the Infrastructure industry and its challenges is second to none. There was clear communication throughout and they have provided continued support which has been excellent.”
